Intensive counseling is a focused, time-limited approach designed to access the core issues a client has quickly and then offer powerful and deep intervention to bring about lasting change. Done well, it can accomplish in the space of several days what traditional therapy may take six to ten or more months of weekly sessions to do.
Dr. Odell operates solely from a historically faithful biblical worldview and believes that, apart from God’s enabling grace through Christ’s redemptive work on the cross and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, he can do little. Scripture’s direct applicability to clients depends on their willingness to acknowledge its proper role in their lives (2 Tim. 3:16-17), so that clients who profess Christian faith can expect some clear Scriptural discussion, whereas those who do not claim to be Christian will receive it much less, if at all. However, the principles Scripture espouses are timeless and universal, and Dr. Odell strives to maintain total fidelity to them, regardless of the client’s worldview. Clients can rest assured, however, that matters of faith will not be forced on them if they do not want them included.
Fees are set on a case by case basis. Clients pursuing intensive counseling who are in official ministry positions, such as pastors, or clients whose visit to GlacierHaven is paid for by a church or ministry organization, receive a significantly discounted fee. Consultation rates are likewise established on an individual basis. Fees may be paid using cash, check, cashier’s check, money order, or card (with a small transaction fee included for cards).
Intensive counseling clients, upon making a reservation to come for services, are asked to make a deposit for half the total fee. The balance of the fee is due upon their visit. The deposit is fully refundable up to 1 week prior to the beginning of the scheduled week’s visit, or if preferred, the deposit can be credited fully toward another week. If an intensive reservation is cancelled less than one week prior to the beginning of the scheduled week’s visit, only half of the deposit is refundable or creditable.
GlacierHaven does not bill insurance companies directly for intensive counseling services, but does bill for traditional outpatient services. Many insurers may cover at least a portion of intensive counseling services, and Dr. Odell will supply you upon request with the necessary statements to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. He is in network with several insurers, but it is the client’s responsibility to find out what insurance will cover and how reimbursement may be obtained, and all charges incurred are ultimately the client’s responsibility.
For a number of reasons, a reservation for intensive counseling usually is made no less than three or more weeks in advance because Dr. Odell’s schedule is such that it may be that long before a week is available. For traditional outpatient services, Dr. Odell often has a waiting list that may be several weeks long. Please feel free to contact us to see what his waiting list status is; sometimes it is not long at all. Every effort will be made to schedule you as quickly as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
Dr. Odell maintains a private office in a professional business complex on the northeast side of Kalispell where sessions take place. Upon your making a reservation or an appointment, you will receive specific instructions via telephone or email, including directions, to prepare you for your visit.
